Levana really is evil. The way she sees the world is so very twisted. She honestly thinks she is doing the best for Luna even when quite a few other people are against her. She really doesn’t get why people are afraid of her. She doesn’t realize how completely and utterly crazy she is.
One would think that after everything Levana put up with from Channary, she wouldn’t be so bad. But that, sadly, is not the case. It just seemed to make her worse.
Speaking of Channary, wow! The other books in the series rarely mention Channary except to say that she is Levana’s older sister, previous queen of Luna, and mother of Princess Selene. I guess I had the impression Channary was a better queen than Levana. Well, no. I actually feel sorry for the Lunar who have survived under their parents, Channary, and now Levana. At least Princess Selene can’t be any worse than the past few.
Poor Winter. No wonder she is slightly messed up after what Levana did to her father and Little Princess Selene. I feel so sorry for the poor girl having grown up with Levana as a stepmother. shivers
