Synopsis

Mysterious doors with lizard-head knobs. Talking stone statues. A crazy girl with a hatchet. Yes, Liv’s dreams have been pretty weird lately. Especially the one where she’s in a graveyard at night, watching four boys conduct dark magic rituals.
The strangest part is that Liv recognizes the boys in her dream. They’re classmates from her new school in London, the school where she’s starting over because her mom has moved them to a new country (again). But what’s really scaring Liv is that the dream boys seem to know things about her in real life, things they couldn’t possibly know–unless they actually are in her dreams? Luckily, Liv never could resist a good mystery, and all four of those boys are pretty cute…

My Review

Liv has never had a home for long. Her father is a physicist and her mother is a college professor of Literature. They both move a lot which means a lot of moves for Liv and her younger sister Mia. They are looking forward to London and maybe a stable home but things aren’t exactly what they bargained for.

First, there is Liv’s mom’s boyfriend. Then there is his children: Grayson and Florence. Then there are Grayson’s friends: Henry, Arthur, and Jasper. Then there is shared, lucid dreams. Yep, things aren’t exactly what Liv and Mia were hoping for.

I loved the idea that dreams could be lucid and shared. That is such a cool idea and it was very well executed. I liked the idea that there was a hallway of doors that led to different people’s dreams. It is such an interesting concept.

The whole book kept me interested. I kept wanting to know more about this shared dreaming experience. Lucid dreaming in general is a pretty interesting concept. At first the description, especially the part about the dreaming, had me thinking of Ronan from the Raven Cycle but that is far from what this book is about.
