Synopsis

War has begun. Arin is in the thick of it with untrustworthy new allies and the empire as his enemy. Though he has convinced himself that he no longer loves Kestrel, Arin hasn’t forgotten her, or how she became exactly the kind of person he has always despised. She cared more for the empire than she did for the lives of innocent people—and certainly more than she did for him.
At least, that’s what he thinks.
In the frozen north, Kestrel is a prisoner in a brutal work camp. As she searches desperately for a way to escape, she wishes Arin could know what she sacrificed for him. She wishes she could make the empire pay for what they’ve done to her.
But no one gets what they want just by wishing.
As the war intensifies, both Kestrel and Arin discover that the world is changing. The East is pitted against the West, and they are caught in between. With so much to lose, can anybody really win?

My Review

I want to start this out by apologizing if this review isn’t coherent. Who can expect me to be coherent when this is the final book of The Winner’s Trilogy?! I will try though.

Arin and Kestrel. They are amazing! Especially in this book. Kestrel did everything she could for Arin and it landed her in prison/work camp. She wouldn’t go quietly, so she was completely drugged.

Arin had no idea when Kestrel had done for him. Once he figured it out, finally, he went after her. Arin would do anything to keep Kestrel safe, anything at all for her. Kestrel can’t even fully remember Arin, thanks to the drug, and yet he will protect her. He will give her what she wants, even when she doesn’t want to see him.

Kestrel is so strong! She survived the work camp and is working on getting her memories back. She is too determined to give up, too Valorian to admit defeat. She won’t give up.

I can’t even write more coherent words at the moment. I love Kestrel and Arin! They are amazing and ridiculously awesome. The Winner’s Kiss is a wonderfully beautiful conclusion to the trilogy and my only complaint is that I want more!
