Synopsis

When she was chosen to compete in the Selection, America never dreamed she would find herself anywhere close to the crown—or to Prince Maxon's heart. But as the end of the competition approaches, and the threats outside the palace walls grow more vicious, America realizes just how much she stands to lose—and how hard she'll have to fight for the future she wants.

I liked America a lot more in this book. In this book it seems, to me at least, that America isn’t as worried about herself, at least not as much. She does things for other without thinking of the consequences. I really like some of what she does for others in this book.

I love Georgia and wish we had gotten to know her better. She strikes me as someone with a lot of spunk and a great background story.

Princess Nicoletta of Italy is back again. I thought she was a great character in The Elite and I haven’t changed my mind.

This book seemed a lot more real to me than the others, more life-like. Life is messy and this book showed some of that more than the others. People we know about get hurt and sometimes people die. That’s just real life. It isn’t all ball gowns and tiaras.

On to the rebels. I am so glad we got to know more about the northern rebels in this book. When there is something wrong in a country, not everyone is complacent nor do they all turn to violence. Some are just northern rebels wanting a better country.

Now I’m eagerly awaiting The Heir for that cover is gorgeous. Until it was released, the cover for The One was my favorite. Now I’m smitten by gray dresses.
