Things that Happened in April

  • My birthday on April 1st. I don’t exactly like my birthday, in fact, I have nine whole reasons I hate the day of my birthday! I shared them on Twitter.
9 Reasons I Hate the Day of My Birthday!

  • I GOT ACCEPTED TO GRADUATE SCHOOL!! It is for a Masters in Catechetics and Evangelization. I am SUPER excited about this. It is an online program that I will begin in August.

Favorites of the Month

  • My favorite book of the month was The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater. I was basically in tears (meaning I would have been crying if I were one to cry about books) by the end of the novel. Such a fitting ending to an amazing series!
  • My favorite reread of the month was Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J K Rowling. I love this book so much!

Other April Posts

Apparently I didn’t do as well on this count this month. There is only one non-review post. Whoops!

Though the next two are kind of reviews, they aren’t really. They are more discussions on Harry Potter.

Things I’m Looking Forward to in May

  •  The end of the school year! This has to be number one on this list. Much as I love my job and my students, I cannot wait for it to be summer!
  • My baby sister has her birthday AND graduates from college this month! So proud of you, little sis!
  • I need to book flights and hotel in California for my friend’s wedding in June. I am so excited since I haven’t seen her in a few years! It is going to be awesome!

  1. Congrats on getting into grad school!
You did a great amount of reading. I got to give the Raven books another chance, I think.
    Happy May!

    • I had a hard time believing how much I read this month when I was putting this together! My reread of the Raven Cycle was a rather fast reread via audiobook. It saddens me that the series is actually over now. I highly recommend it, though. It is an amazing series!

Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a fabulous May!

  2. Congratulations on grad school! How exciting! So funny, when I read before about people making fun of you or making jokes about your birthday, I didn’t get it – I was thinking, “Why would people do that?” I totally missed the fact that your birthday is on APRIL FOOL’S DAY! Duh!! It makes more sense now – it’s still mean, but I’m not as baffled. LOL!

    • Sadly, my birthday being on April 1st is something I cannot control. I’ve learned to sort of deal with all the snide comments but that doesn’t mean I enjoy them. Some people can be so rude about it. At least next year my birthday is a Sunday so I won’t have to deal with my students.
Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a great May!

  3. Congratulations on getting into grad school! That’s amazing! I have yet to read The Raven Cycle, but it seems like I should. I’m re-reading Harry Potter too at the moment, though I’ve only gotten up to Prisoner of Azkaban. I’m a little horrified to find that I’ve forgotten some of the details ’cause my memory of it is mixed up with the movie!

    • Thanks! I am super excited about grad school!
I, also, had forgotten some parts of the Harry Potter books thanks to the movies messing up my memory. It has been wonderful rereading them all again.
Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
