Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly link-up hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.
This week’s list is the Top Ten Books On My Winter To Be Read List.

It seems like it has been winter here for a month already with all the snow and these double digits below 0ΒΊF. I know January and February will get worse so I’m going to need a curl up with a good book and don’t leave home list. Here that is for me.

1. The Magician’s Nephew by C. S. Lewis

This is not a strictly for pleasure read. My students will be reading this book starting in mid-January and I need to reread it before then. You know, the whole lesson planning thing.

2. Green Rider series by Kristen Britain

I also need to get my hands on Mirror Sight. Great series. I just really don’t like the four year wait between each book. I understand that they take awhile to write but I really want to know what happens next.

3. The Tales of Beedle the Bard by J. K. Rowling

I finally ordered a copy. Yes, I’m behind but mine will be here any day and I’m really excited for it.

4. A Wrinkle in Time by Madeline L’Engle

This is another book that my students will be reading in March. I, again, need to reread it before then.

5. Dairy of Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska: Divine Mercy in My Soul

I have a confession to make. I have never read the whole Dairy. This winter, I want to make that happen.

6. Crossing the Threshold of Hope by Pope Saint John Paul II

I read this book right after high school and I feel that I probably missed a lot of it. This is a planned reread.

7. Journey of Hope by Lurlene McDaniel

This book contains two novels: Angel of Mercy and Angel of Hope. This book will make me cry but that is okay. This is a great book.

8. Padre Pio: Man of Hope by Renzo Allegri

This was a book I received as a gift and read in high school. I have just really been wanting to reread this for awhile.

9. Snow by Tracy Lynn

First, it is title Snow. And it’s winter. Get it.
Anyway, this is a retelling of Snow White based in Wales and London in, if I remember correctly, the Victorian era. Really great book. It is part of the Once Upon a Time series which are all retellings of fairytales.

10. Snow-Walker by Catherine Fisher

Another book with a winter-y title. And I haven’t read it in quite some time (like five or six years) so it will come out again this winter.

These are the Top Ten Books On My Winter To Be Read List. Feel free to share yours as well and check out the rest of them at The Broke and the Bookish.

    • The sixth grade actually picked Magician’s Nephew over Lion, Witch, Wardrobe. They told me that since they’ve already seen the movie, they don’t want to read the book. They would rather read something new. I was just fine with that. Good for them.
