Things that Happened in February

  • First of all, this is going to be a LONG post.
  • Lent started which means that Easter is on the way!
  • I wrote TWO discussion posts. I am thoroughly impressed with myself.
  • There has been nasty stuff floating around the school I work at. I have, thankfully, not caught anything terrible yet. I, however, have been feeling a little under-the-weather.
  • Speaking of weather, we have been having the weirdest winter ever! I live in Montana. We should have snow in February. Instead, all of the snow and ice has melted and we have been enjoying temperatures in the 50s and 60s! This isn’t exactly as good as it sounds since the ranchers really need the moisture from the snow in order to for the year to work out. It has been… odd.
  • I finally convinced my sister to sign up with Pottermore and be sorted. (She is a Hufflepuff, in case you were curious.)
  • I attended a Brew Fest with my family. It was… interesting. I cannot drink beer due to celiac and an alcohol allergy. It was thanks to that alcohol allergy that I started to go into anaphylaxis at the event. I was all, “I can’t breathe.” My dad was, “You’re fine.” I was all, “No! I really can’t breathe!” Then my dad and a family friend got me out of the crowd enough that I could recover.
  • I had an amazing Religious Ed class with my students. They were extremely interested in why there are Popes, how Popes are elected, and the Popemobile (which they didn’t believe was a real thing until I showed them pictures).
  • I’m slowly learning to let God take over since things have been… interesting lately.
  • On the note about God, I am in the process of applying for acceptance into a Masters in Theology program. (Yes, this is a different program than my other Masters work and the previous credits will mean zero. *sigh*)
  • My favorite book of the month (non-reread) was Raelia which left me completely broken and (almost) sobbing on the floor. AMAZING!
  • My favorite reread of the month was Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. I love this entire series, obviously, and could definitely use a time-turner.

Month in Review

Is November really over! It seems like this month has gone by so very fast for me. It is crazy!

Things that Happened in November

  • So much has happened it is hard to get it all in words. One of the students at my school suffered a stroke and is hospitalized for now. A counselor at the district high school died from an unexpected heart attack. My grandmother has been hospitalized yet again. It really hasn’t been a great month.
  • My religious education class (4th grade) was enrolled in the Association of the Miraculous Medal. They are all so excited to have miraculous medals.

{TTT} Thanksgiving Edition

Posted November 24, 2015 in Faith, Life, Reading / 16 Comments

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly link-up hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

This week’s list has a Thanksgiving theme. That leaves things rather open-ended and so I have decided to go with the things I am thankful for this Thanksgiving. I know that it isn’t bookish but that’s okay with me. Also, there are only 9 but that’s just the way it is going to be.

1. My Family

I love my family to pieces. My sister is going to be coming home tomorrow and will stay through Thanksgiving weekend. It is going to be great. I am praying though that the roads won’t be too bad. It doesn’t look so good now… 🙁

2. My Faith

My faith is super important to me. You might have noticed that from my blog url. I’m not ashamed of my faith nor am I going to hide it. Sure, I don’t always post about it. Actually, I have realized that I don’t post about my faith much at all. Maybe I should get a few more Catholic-y posts in the making. 🙂

Things that Happened in September

  • It is so strange that September is already over! This month has been so overwhelming!!
  • The first weeks of the school year have dragged and yet they have also gone by so quickly.
  • I was dragged to the city to try on dresses for my sister’s wedding next summer. I think we found one that everyone liked. That itself is an accomplishment. 🙂
  • This month has seemed to go by so fast when I wasn’t at the school. Just crazy fast.

I have decided to start reading Cinder by Marissa Meyer in Polish in hopes that it will help my Polish vocabulary. So far, it is very slow going.

I watched the Pope in Philadelphia on EWTN. I love Pope Francis so much. He is so inspiring and so full of joy. What a great representative of God’s love for all people, especially families, at the World Meeting of Families.

Things that Happened in August

  • I returned home from summer camp! It was a fun time but I am glad to be home.
  • I survived the days of smoke so thick I could not see more than a block ahead of me. When I went to drive into town, my vehicle put the auto-lights on because it thought it was night. It has never been this bad that I recall. Yay for the forest fires of Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Canada.
  • I started school again. Back in the classroom with fifth and sixth grade students.
  • Speaking of being back in the classroom, I’m going to leave you with one very short sentence: I hate lice! (Thankfully I do not have any.)
