{TTT} Thanksgiving Edition

Posted November 24, 2015 in Faith, Life, Reading / 16 Comments

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly link-up hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

This week’s list has a Thanksgiving theme. That leaves things rather open-ended and so I have decided to go with the things I am thankful for this Thanksgiving. I know that it isn’t bookish but that’s okay with me. Also, there are only 9 but that’s just the way it is going to be.

1. My Family

I love my family to pieces. My sister is going to be coming home tomorrow and will stay through Thanksgiving weekend. It is going to be great. I am praying though that the roads won’t be too bad. It doesn’t look so good now… 🙁

2. My Faith

My faith is super important to me. You might have noticed that from my blog url. I’m not ashamed of my faith nor am I going to hide it. Sure, I don’t always post about it. Actually, I have realized that I don’t post about my faith much at all. Maybe I should get a few more Catholic-y posts in the making. 🙂

3. My Job

I love my job even though I, at times, complain often about it. I love teaching. I love working with the little monsters in the school. I just wish they didn’t have to share their sickness with me. I am finally starting to feel better, though.

4. My Health

Overall, I am pretty healthy. Sure, I have celiac and other food allergies. Sure, I have other issues as well that I don’t feel like talking about. However, I have so much that I need to be thankful for. I can take care of myself. I can breath without an oxygen tank. I can walk. I can run. I am pretty lucky.

5. My Country

Even though there are some things I don’t like too much about my country, I am very blessed to have been born and raised in the United States of America. This is a pretty great country and I really do love it, even though the government is completely crazy (aren’t all governments?).

6. My State

I LOVE Montana. While I was not blessed enough to grow up here, I do live here now and have for about two years. I love it here. I love the mountains and the beautiful sunrises/sunsets. I just love it!

7. My Town

There are always going to be things about small towns that drive you crazy. I can say especially in Montana since it is over 100 miles to the nearest town/city capable of supporting a Wal-Mart. However, this town is pretty great and really takes care of it’s own people. I love it here and it is a great place to live.

8. My Students

This includes the crazy monsters from my job and the crazy monsters from my religious education classes. I love them all. They are great even though they can drive me completely crazy at times. It may be a bit insane for me to be thankful for them but I really do care about all of them.

9. My Books

Could this list possibly be complete without books? Nope. Books definitely needed to be included. I am so very thankful for the books that I own and want to own and all the authors that wrote and continue to write them. I am thankful for all of the people in the bookish community.

These are the things I am thankful for this Thanksgiving. Feel free to share yours as well and check out the rest of them at The Broke and the Bookish.

  1. Great list! Crossing my fingers or you that the roads will be all right; I’m surprised by how early and by how much snow the US got recently (the UK too–and much earlier than us! We just got a wee bit of snow dusted on the ground last night and that was about it). Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving!

    My TTT

    • I grew up in Wisconsin, so I know what you mean. My parents always talked about moving to the mountains and then we finally did.
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Thanksgiving!

  2. I’m endlessly thankful for books too. :’) I would be a sad little squid without them, I WOULD BE. And omg, yay for health despite allergies! (I have copious allergies too and it sucks, but it could be worse, so I have a lot to be thankful for. XD) And squee for sisters coming to visit! 😀 Sisters are rather wonderful creatures.
Thanks for stopping by @ Paper Fury!

  3. Ooh, I’ve never been to Montana, but it sounds beautiful (and more remote than my former homes in other rural states!)

#4 is often overlooked, but so important! So many of us take our health for granted when we’re young, as if it’ll last forever. I’m so thankful to be able to physically move around and exist without pain – and I’m thankful that you are, too 🙂 Happy thanksgiving!

    • Montana is beautiful. I much prefer the central and western parts of the state to the eastern. If you ever want some recommendations, I’m sure I could give some.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a great end of the weekend!
