To celebrate this crazy, beautiful, amazing year, I have decided to host a series of giveaways. The giveaways will all be Kindle ebooks since those are cheaper and I can send them internationally much easier. 🙂 Today’s theme is Ever Ancient, Ever New.
There is always the strive to stay relevant, especially in the realm of blogging. We live in a world where things are changing faster than we can write about them. We finish one thing and we are on to the next big thing.
Then there are those things that we keep coming back to: the books we will always reread, the movies we will always watch, the music we will always listen to, the blog posts we will always read. There are posts that we read that won’t need to be changed in years, unless we want to update them, because they are still relevant.
For example, I give you the post that Cait @ Paper Fury wrote back in May about the hazards of being a bookworm. All of those things still totally apply. They will probably still apply next year and the year after and the year after than and so on.
There is also this post from Shannon @ It Starts At Midnight about blogger anxiety. We all know what that feels like. This post was posted over a year ago and it is still relevant. We still have to deal with blogger anxiety and we still need to talk about it sometimes.
Do you see where I’m going here? We strive to write relevant posts that will still be relevant years down the line. That is hard work: to create something that is still relevant no matter when it is read, to create something that people will want to come back to later. It’s not an easy task and that is something that I struggle with every time I sit down to write a discussion post that ends up being a review because I am still thinking about that book I just read.
Anyway, enough of my rambling around. I hope you all have a great Monday and a wonderful week. It’s going to be a long one for me.
Now for this giveaway…
Today is a Kindle ebook copy of A College of Magics by Caroline Stevermer. This is a book that I have read multiple times and I still find something new every time I reread it. It is one of those books that requires multiple rereads and one that I don’t think very many people know about.
Good Luck! The giveaway winner will be contacted on November 3rd. The winner must respond to my email within 48 hours or another winner will be selected. I am going to verify entries so please don’t cheat.
