Surviving Fictional World {Armchair BEA}

It is a bit funny that this is the topic of the day. Last week, I wrote a post about how I would never have survived Harry’s fourth year at Hogwarts.

There are so many fictional worlds it would be awesome to live in. However, I have very little confidence in my ability to survive in any of them.

I know I would never be able to survive Sacoridia. Much as I love the Green Rider series, I would never be able to survive there! Groundmites or something from Blackveil would have killed me early on.

The same goes for Sheehan and Morek in The Last Oracle series. I don’t have any faith in my ability to survive Clio’s world.

At the moment, I cannot think of any fictional worlds in which I might be able to survive. Obviously, I have no faith in my abilities. I would survive best in my own world surrounded by my books.

Which fictional worlds would you be able to survive? Which would eat you alive?

Beyond the Books {Armchair BEA}

I meant to write this post last night but I didn’t end up getting it done. I have been feeling a bit under the weather and apologize for taking so long to get this up. Enjoy!

Going beyond traditional books, I love audiobooks. There are utterly amazing (if you find a good narrator) because I can be working, cleaning, or doing dishes while listening to a good audiobook.

There are some books I have read exclusively via audiobook. I have read all of Kiera Cass’s books as audio only. Audiobooks are also how I read Game of Thrones while driving cross-country.

Aesthetic Concerns – Book Covers & Blog Design {Armchair BEA}

To be completely honest, I almost always judge books by their covers. If a book has a gorgeous cover, I am much more apt to read the synopsis. I just love pretty covers.

I love it when the covers in a series match. Often paperbacks get cover redesigns. If this is the case, I always want my covers to match and I will track down the cover I want. If that isn’t possible, I won’t make the biggest fuss. The story inside is more important than the cover.

What is the name you prefer to use?

I go by Amanda. I have never liked nicknames thanks to being bullied in grade school. *shudders* So I go by Amanda.
In the world of the internet, I go by Amanda Marie which is my first and middle names. I don’t use my last name for a few reasons, one of which is that no one can ever pronounce it correctly.

How long have you been a book blogger?

I have been blogging for just over a year and a half. I really enjoy it more than I thought I would.
