June and July 2015 in Review

It has been a crazy month and a half! I will share some of my summer camp experience here but most will wait until it’s own post with pictures!

Things that Happened in June & July

  • As you may recall from a previous post, I spent the summer working at a great Catholic summer camp. I really want to talk a lot about that but I promise I will post more with pictures later.
  • I survived 6 weeks without much cell phone service or internet. It was really great for me.
  • I also read things that I wanted to read rather than what I needed to read based on review copies and such.

Synopsis

Princess Eadlyn has grown up hearing endless stories about how her mother and father met. Twenty years ago, America Singer entered the Selection and won the heart of Prince Maxon—and they lived happily ever after. Eadlyn has always found their fairy-tale story romantic, but she has no interest in trying to repeat it. If it were up to her, she’d put off marriage for as long as possible.
But a princess’s life is never entirely her own, and Eadlyn can’t escape her very own Selection—no matter how fervently she protests.
Eadlyn doesn’t expect her story to end in romance. But as the competition begins, one entry may just capture Eadlyn’s heart, showing her all the possibilities that lie in front of her . . . and proving that finding her own happily ever after isn’t as impossible as she’s always thought.

Month in Review

Things that Happened in May

  • The last full week of school has been completed! Really, this is a party worthy event.
  • We celebrated the Ascension, Pentecost, and Trinity Sunday. That is three great Sundays in a row.
  • You can tell that summer is fast approaching. The sun beats me up at 5am and it is still bright when I try to fall asleep after 9pm. It is crazy to think that just a few months ago (like December) it was dark when I was walking to work at 7:30am and dark when I was walking home at 4:30pm.
  • The school talent show was this past Tuesday. The teachers decided to do our own thing this year. We all got a variety of instruments and played Yellow Submarine. I will give you just one word for it: HILARIOUS!

January 2015 Monthly Wrap-Up

Posted January 31, 2015 in Reading / 2 Comments

The first month of 2015 is completed. That just sounds crazy. I am finally remembering to write 2015, at least most of the time.

Things that Happened in January

  • My sister was home from college over break.
  • We took my sister back to college and I was able to visit a WalMart and a bookstore and more than a two lane road!
  • Montana Winter Fair started Friday and ends Sunday. The best thing about this is the library used book sale. Paperbacks for 25-50¢ and hardcovers for $1. It is amazing… when they have books I want to read rather than just westerns and such.

Books I Read in January

The Web by Megan ChanceThe Lightning Thief by Rick RiordanThe One by Kiera Cass
Ancient Christian Worship by Andrew B McGowanLoved As I Am by Miriam James HeidlandA Book of Uncommon Prayer by Brian DoyleAtlantia by Ally Condie
My Sisters the Saints by Colleen Carroll CampbellThe Fellowship of the Ring by J R R TolkienPoison Study by Maria V Snyder.
