Posted June 21, 2016 in Reading / 6 Comments

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly link-up hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

It has been a long time since I have written a Top Ten Tuesday post. I haven’t meant to leave it this long, but apparently life gets in the way. Anyway, I am back for now. This week’s list is the Top Ten Favorite 2016 Releases So Far. Since I have only read 11 2016 releases I would rate 5 stars so far, I’m going to give you all eleven. They are listed in the order in which I read them.

Surviving Fictional World {Armchair BEA}

Posted May 14, 2016 in Life, Reading / 0 Comments

Armchair BEA

It is a bit funny that this is the topic of the day. Last week, I wrote a post about how I would never have survived Harry’s fourth year at Hogwarts.

There are so many fictional worlds it would be awesome to live in. However, I have very little confidence in my ability to survive in any of them.

I know I would never be able to survive Sacoridia. Much as I love the Green Rider series, I would never be able to survive there! Groundmites or something from Blackveil would have killed me early on.

The same goes for Sheehan and Morek in The Last Oracle series. I don’t have any faith in my ability to survive Clio’s world.

At the moment, I cannot think of any fictional worlds in which I might be able to survive. Obviously, I have no faith in my abilities. I would survive best in my own world surrounded by my books.

Which fictional worlds would you be able to survive? Which would eat you alive?

Things that Happened in April

  • My birthday on April 1st. I don’t exactly like my birthday, in fact, I have nine whole reasons I hate the day of my birthday! I shared them on Twitter.
9 Reasons I Hate the Day of My Birthday!

  • I GOT ACCEPTED TO GRADUATE SCHOOL!! It is for a Masters in Catechetics and Evangelization. I am SUPER excited about this. It is an online program that I will begin in August.

Favorites of the Month

  • My favorite book of the month was The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater. I was basically in tears (meaning I would have been crying if I were one to cry about books) by the end of the novel. Such a fitting ending to an amazing series!
  • My favorite reread of the month was Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J K Rowling. I love this book so much!

Synopsis

The epic conclusion to the Last Oracle Series…
Clio has forsaken the Deities and turned her back on her powers. Unable to trust her Visions, she is left alone and weak on the outskirts of Sheehan.
When the Emperor hears that an Oracle has survived in the Empire, he places a price on her head, forcing Clio to flee to the ancient city of Cearo. But the Deities have other plans for Clio, and it’s not long before she is faced with new foes, including a priestess with uncanny powers.
With rumors of unrest in the Empire growing and alliances within the nobles shifting, Riece seeks out Clio with a desperate plea. To protect the Empire, Clio will have to return to where her journey began—the sacrificial pyramid of Morek—to fight a new evil in an unimaginable form and confront the greatest enemy she's ever known: her father.

Posted April 12, 2016 in Reading / 2 Comments

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly link-up hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

This week’s list is the Top Ten Books Every X Should Read. I am choosing to write about the Lesser Known Books Every Fantasy Lover Should Read. As a note, I am picking lesser known how I see it. If some of these are rather well-known, I may be unawares and then we should have a party! I also know it will be unlikely that I get to ten.
